Hello Everyone!

We’ve been working so much that we forgot to update the blog. We worked super hard the past couple of weeks!

To begin with, we are very proud to tell you that we have completed the JOLLY PHONICS programme (we are going to continue working on the sounds as some of them are a bit tricky). 

To celebrate our achievement we had a party last week. We ate some cake and we gave our amazing students a Jolly Phonics Genius certificate.

The last two sounds we learnt were:

/ar/ as in STAR

and

/er/ as in ROOSTER

We revised clothes vocabulary and we are practising the following structure:

He is wearing…

She is wearing…

We also learnt some new vocabulary and we did a lot of practice on the booklet.

Last but not least, we have started revising for our oral exam so we’ve been working really hard on our speaking. After all, practice makes perfect!

Hello families!

Let us tell you what we did the past week.

We learnt a new set of vocabulary: clothes, and these are the ones we know:

 

We are also learning the last sounds from the Jolly Phonics programme… Yuppie! We are almost there! These are the ones we learnt last week:

/oi/ as in coin – oil – boy – toy

/ue/ as in barbecue

Two more sounds and we are done. Good for us!

We continued revising long vowels:

/ai/  /ie/  /ee/  /oa/

We also had two dictations. We know they are tricky but practice makes perfect!

We had another mock exam on CAN and CAN’T. It was a piece of cake!

We hope you all had a lovely spring break! We apologize for not updating the blog sooner.

This is what we did before the holidays:

• We talked about CAN, CAN’T and we practised phrases such as:

I CAN SWIM.

I CAN’T COOK.

• We learnt three new trick words: HE – SHE and WE. 

    The tricky words we know so far are: THE – I – YOU – ARE – HE – SHE – WE.

• We revised numbers 1-10 and we learnt numbers 11-20. 

          We did a lot of practice on the booklet.

• We watched some videos which you can find in our songs page.

    

• Last but not least, we learnt 5 new sounds! Wow!

Hello Everyone! 

Last week we learnt three new sounds:

LONG /OO/

 as in ZOO

SHORT /OO/

as in BOOK

and /Y/ as in YOGHURT

We also learnt about:

Tricky words are those words which cannot be sounded out correctly using the Jolly Phonics sounds.  We practised reading and writing them correctly and we also used them in sentences.

The tricky Words we know so far are: 

I – THE – YOU – ARE.

We talked about farm animals. These are the ones we know:

We also had two mock exams. One about PETS and the other one about WILD ANIMALS.

Last but not least, we read “HEN’S PENS”

We practised drawing zigzags and we decorated eggs just as Hen did in the story!
